Vegas update 2: the turn out

Win some lose some. That’s what they say.

And that’s exactly what we did.  The LA Dream’s run through the Sin City Shootout has come to an end in the semi finals.  For my part, I played pretty well especially on defense.  Having never met half of my teammates before the game, I think we came together nicely and we can only get better.  I really haven’t played organized basketball since high school. Sadly (?), I’m a better athlete now than I was then.  Poor young Julian.   I think I just gained a ton of respect for the boys on my team.  It’s pretty easy sitting on the sidelines coaching, but 5 games in 2 days is about all I can handle.

And now that the business has come to an end, it is time for the pleasure to commence.  I figured I better write my #30BlogsIn30Days post now before we begin turning out in the desert.  Besides, if I wrote it later, I wouldn’t be able to tell you anything about what is going to happen anyway.

My feet are on fire.  My shoulder feels halfway dislocated. I smell like a dead body.  But I am ready to get it in tonight!

Me after the games. I feel like a #baller with the ice freezing my arm off. Try not to stare at my ferocious man pectoral.

So let’s go Vegas!  I don’t have that much time left.  But time doesn’t mean anything really in this city.  There is one day left to live in the bubble and I intend to float in the clouds until that bubble bursts.

Yesterday I was feeling really ill.  I didn’t think that I’d even be able to play, let alone hold my own.  But once I stepped on the court I knew that I had to give it my all.  I will treat the dance floor exactly the same.

We’ll blog tomorrow from LA, sick or well, hungover or bright-eyed.  And then we’ll countdown until the next excuse to come back.
